1. Rhizobium - associated with roots of legume plants

2. Azolla (water fern) - associated with Anabaena azollae

3. Coralloid roots of Cycas -associated with Anabaena and Nostoc

 Symbiotic nitrogen fixing bacteria occurs in free living state in association with another organisms(Anaboena,Nostoc, etc). Also in dicot stems , some medullary rays cells become interfascicular cambium.
