As we learnt

 

unbalanced condition -

 

V_{B}>V_{D}

(V_{A}-V_{B})<(V_{A}-V_{D})

- wherein

Current will flow from A to B

 

 

Same current will go from x and y but current through B is gretaer than current through a. Hence some current has to flow from b to a.
