In Young's double slit experiment, the y-coordinates of central maxima and 10^{\text {th }} maxima are 2 \mathrm{~cm} and 5 \mathrm{~cm}, respectively. When the YDSE apparatus is immersed in a liquid of refractive index 1.5. The corresponding ycoordinates will be:

Option: 1

2 \mathrm{~cm}, 7.5 \mathrm{~cm}

Option: 2

3 \mathrm{~cm}, 6 \mathrm{~cm}

Option: 3

2 \mathrm{~cm}, 4 \mathrm{~cm}

Option: 4

4 / 3 \mathrm{~cm}, 10 / 3 \mathrm{~cm}

Fringe width, \mathrm{\beta=\frac{\mathrm{D} \lambda}{\mathrm{d}}\, \,}

\mathrm{ i.e., \beta \propto \lambda}

So, wavelength \mathrm{ \lambda} and hence fringe width \mathrm{\beta} decreases 1.5 times when immersed in liquid. The distance between central maxima and \mathrm{10^{\text {th }}} maxima is \mathrm{3 \mathrm{~cm}} in vacuum. When immersed in liquid it will reduce to \mathrm{2 \mathrm{~cm}. }Position of central maxima will not change wile \mathrm{10^{\text {th }}} maxima will be obtained at \mathrm{y=4 \mathrm{~cm}.}
