Working rule for finding area -

 

If curves lies on both sides of x - axes, add their moduli to get total area

- wherein

Area = |A_{1}|+|A_{2}|+|A_{3}|+|A_{4}|

 

 Area = \int_{0}^{\pi}\sin xdx+\int_{\pi}^{3\pi/2}\sin xdx

         =\left [ -\cos x \right ]^{\pi}_{0}-\left [ -\cos x \right ]^{3\pi/2}_{\pi}

         =2+1=3
