The octet of atomic orbitals is not complete, for example, the fluorine atom (F) having seven electrons in its valence shell but in molecular orbitals, the octet is complete which leads to more stability of molecular orbitals than atomic orbitals.

For example :

F2  molecule, which has a stable octet due to sharing of electrons in molecular orbitals.

So, the Stability of molecular orbitals is more than atomic orbitals.

Hence, option number (2) is correct
