The transducer is a device which converts one form of energy into another 

Modulators and demodulators are used to modulate the information signal with a carrier wave to enable its transmission 

During the transmission, the signal weakens with propagation and its waveform is distorted due to interference with noise. To filter out the noise and regenerate the signal as before distribution, repeaters are used.
