In three dimensional co-ordinate system, unit vectors in direction of positive x, y, z axis are \hat{i}, \hat{j}\ and\ \hat{k} respectively.

  \because \hat{i},\hat{j},\hat{k} are unit vectors along co-ordinate axes, so \because -\hat{i},-\hat{j},-\hat{k}

will also be unit vectors along co-ordinates axes but in direction of negative x, y & z-axis respectively.
