A whole- seller allows a discount of 20% on the list price to retailer. The retailer sells at 5 % discount on the list price. If the customer paid Rs. 38 for an article, what profit is made by the retailer?

Let MP = 100    

CP to retailer = 80

SP to retailer = 95

Profit = 15

Customer paid = 38 ,   It means 95 = 38 , 100 = 40

If MP = 40

Profit =  40\times \frac{15}{100}=6
