The entrance test was held for the admission of candidates into 672 seats in the MBBS programme, offered by the 7 AIIMS. In all, there are total 11 AIIMS all around the nation. However, the exam was only held for the admission into AIIMS Delhi and Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, Rishikesh, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal.  All of these also function as full-time hospitals and provides best medical services. AIIMS MBBS 2016 Important Dates

AIIMS MBBS 2016 dates have not been announced by AIIMS Delhi, which conducts the exam on behalf of all. But here are the tentative time period in which important events of AIIMS usually takes place.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Seat Reservation 

Reservation of seats under AIIMS MBBS 2016 is done for categories which are under-represented or backward. There is a provision of reservation in each AIIMS. The reservation of seat in AIIMS MBBS 2016 is given below:

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying because the ineligible candidates will not be allowed to write the exam. The eligibility criteria of AIIMS MBBS 2016 as below:

  • Applicant should be 17 or more while applying (as on 31st December 2016). If born after 2 January 2000, candidate is ineligible to apply.
  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 from CBSE or Intermediate Science or any other equivalent recognized University/ Board. The qualifying exam should be with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • Candidates appearing for 10+2 can also apply provided their result will be declared before commencement of AIIMS MBBS 2016 session.
  • Candidates belonging to General and OBC category should have passed the examination with at least 60% marks. The same for SC, ST candidates is 50%.

Candidates should check the criteria before paying the application fee because it will not be remitted, irrespective of candidate writing the exam or not.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Application Form

The application form for AIIMS MBBS 2016 has been released and is available online on the official website of AIIMS. The candidates must note that the last date to submit the filled-in application form is 15 March 2016. The candidates can also access the application form by clicking on the link provided in the article. Candidate will be required to register and submit the information in it correctly and completely. Apart from online registration, there will be no other medium to fill and submit the application form of AIIMS MBBS.

To conclude the application procedure properly, candidates will also be required to remit the application fee. The fee amount, for the general and OBC candidates, will be around Rs. 1000 and the same for SC, ST candidates will be around Rs. 1000. OPH candidates will be exempted from AIIMS MBBS 2016 fee payment. Medium to remit the fee will be Net Banking and Debit/Credit Card. Whereas,  the offline medium will include challan payment only.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Admit Card

The admit card of AIIMS 2016 will also be released by the conducting body, in the month of May 2016. Only those candidates will be able to download it who will successfully submit their application form and the fee. AIIMS MBBS 2016 admit card is an important document, which if not produced on the exam day will abstain candidate from taking the paper.

Candidates are advised to check all the information in the admit card thoroughly. If error or errors are detected in it then candidates must inform the conducting body about it. Also, candidates must preserve it well as deface admit card will not be accepted.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Exam Pattern

Aspirants should know the exam pattern of AIIMS MBBS 2016 in order to crack the exam. Exam pattern is about question type, the number of questions, marking scheme, sections in an exam, the level of exam etc. The exam pattern of AIIMS MBBS is as given below:

  • AIIMS MBBS 2016 question paper will be available in Hindi and English, and will be held in 154 cities across the nation.
  • The exam will be of three hours, thirty minutes. It will be held in morning (9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and afternoon shift (3:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
  • It will be held in Computer Based Format and will carry 200 question of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. Distribution of questions, for each subject, is as below.
    1. Physics: 60 questions
    2. Chemistry: 60 questions
    3. Biology (Botany and Zoology): 60 questions
    4. General Knowledge: 20 questions
  • For each correct answer, 1 marks will be allotted and for each wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted as per negative marking.
  • No marks will be allotted if no answer is marked.
  • And, if two options are marked then negative marking will be done, even if one of it is correct.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Cutoff 

The cutoff score or minimum marks required to qualify the exam for AIIMS MBBS 2016 are: 

  • General Category: 50%
  • OBC (NCL) Category: 45%
  • ST/SC Category: 40%
  • OPH Category: As per the category candidates belongs to.

AIIMS MBBS 2016 Counselling

In the AIIMS MBBS 2016 result PDF, the counselling date and time in which each candidate must report will also be given.
