Since one X atom is missing

Thus, the number of effective X atoms

= 7 corners x 1/8 per corner atom share

=   \frac{7}{8} atoms/unit cell

Again, number of Y atoms

= 6 faces x 1/2 per face atom share

= 3 atoms/unit cell

Since the formula of the compound is equal to the number of X atoms and Y atoms.

Thus, the formula of the compound is  X_\frac{7}{8}Y_3

Hence, on simplification, we have  X_7Y_2_4

Therefore, ?Option(2) is correct
