Number of moles of O_2 = 70.6g / 32g = 2.21 moles
And number of moles of Ne_2 = 167.5 g / 20g = 8.375 moles
Now, mole fraction of O_2 = 2.21 / (2.21+8.375)
= 0.21
And mole fraction of Ne_2 = 8.375 / (2.21+8.375)
= 0.79
Now, according to Dalton’s law of partial pressure, we have:
Partial pressure = Mole fraction x Total pressure
Thus, partial pressure of O_2 = 0.21 x 25 bar
= 5.25 bar
And, partial pressure of Ne_2 = 0.79 x 25 bar
= 19.75 bar
Option (a) is correct
