As we learnt,

 

Power factor in resistive circuits -

cos\phi = 1

Power factor \cos\phi = \frac{R}{Z}

R = 2k\Omega

Z = \sqrt{R^2 + (X_L - X_C)^2} = R \;\;\;\;\;\;\;(X_L = X_C = 0)

\therefore \cos\phi = 1

Power factor = 1
