Flowering plants are more successful than other members of the plant world because
They are large and have a good vascular tissue system
They carry out variety of pollination mechanism
The protected plant embryo can survive in the period of unfavourable conditions
All of these
Angiosperms are the first group of plants which have covered ovule. They are also called as flowering plants.
the ovule later develops into a seed which has the embryo inside it. This protects the embryo if the external conditions are unfavourable. Only during favourable conditions, the seed germinates and the embryo starts growing into plants.
Presence of an efficient vascular system comprising of phloem and xylem tissues also offer advantage to the angiosperms.
Adaptations of flowers to a variety of pollinating agents also give angiosperms an evolutionary advantage over other plants.
