The heart is comprised of four parts two ventricles and two atria. The right ventricle and right atria of the body are associated with the carrying of deoxygenated blood. The right ventricle collects deoxygenated blood from all over the body and the right atria takes the blood to the lungs for oxygenation using the pulmonary artery.

The tricuspid valve is present between the right ventricle and the right atrium. It prevents the backflow of blood to the atria.

The functioning of the valve is dependent on the chordae tendinae. If it’s not working correctly there will be backflow of the blood. And the amount of blood going to the pulmonary artery is reduced.

The right option is, “ the flow of blood into the pulmonary artery will be reduced”.
