Meiosis of megaspore mother cell generally produces
Linear tetrad
Tetrahedral tetrad
decussate tetrad
isobilateral tetrad
As we have learned
Megaspore mother cell undergoes meiosis to form four haploid megaspores. The megaspore mother cell first divides to form a dyad which then finally forms a linear tetrad as a transverse wall is laid down after first meiotic division and similarly, second transverse division occur in the two dyad cells resulting in a linear tetrad. Tetrahedral, decussate and isobilateral tetrads are produced during microsporogenesis i.e. these are microspore tetrads. Hence, meiosis of megaspore mother cell produces a linear tetrad.
