The technique called gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) is recommended for those females
Who's cervical canal is too narrow to allow passage for the sperms
Who cannot provide suitable environment for fertilisation
Who cannot produce an ovum
Who cannot retain the foetus inside uterus
Gamete Intra-Fallopian Transfer is referred to as GIFT. It is a method of preventing infertility with assisted reproductive technology. The female's ovaries are used to extract the eggs. On the same day as the eggs are recovered, the male offers a sample of sperm. The catheter is successively loaded with sperm and eggs before being inserted into the patient's fallopian tube through a very small abdominal incision. The fallopian tube receives the discharged eggs and sperm.
