Vesseles -

It is advanced conducting element of xylem. Vessels are multicellular with wide lumen and perforated and wall. The transverse septum is absent, vessels are more capable for conduction of water than tracheids.

Vessels are only found in xylem of angiosperm but exceptionally absent in dracaena, yucca dazinaria, drimys.

Some gymnosperms, like ephedra, welwitschia and gnetum also contain vessels.
