Answers (1)

given that

4 cubes, each total surface area =  6\ cm^2

another cube is total surface area = 24\ cm^2

find: total surface area of a formed rectangular parallelepiped

solution:

the total surface area of the cube is 6\ l^2 where l is the side of a cube.

we can calculate that side of 4 cubes is 1 cm and the side of another cube is 2 cm

Therefore the total surface area of a rectangular parallelepiped is

length =2cm, width =2 cm, and height = 3cm

2(lb+bh+hl)\\ \Rightarrow 2(2\times2+2\times3+3\times2)\\ \ =\ 36 cm^2
