Let us assume   :                 y\ =\ \cos ( \sqrt x )

Differentiating y with respect to x, we get  :

                                          \frac{dy}{dx}\ =\ \frac{d(\cos ( \sqrt x ))}{dx}

or                                       =\ - \sin \sqrt{x}.\frac{d( \sqrt x )}{dx}

or                                       =\ \frac{- \sin \sqrt{x}}{2\sqrt{x}}
