Q. 4.     Distances travelled by Hamid and Akhtar in an hour are 9\; km and 12\; km. Find the ratio of speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar.

Answers (1)

As we know,

speed=\frac{distance}{time}

So,

Speed of Hamid :

speed=\frac{distance}{time}=\frac{9km}{1hour}=9km/h

Speed of Akhtar :

speed=\frac{distance}{time}=\frac{12km}{1hour}=12km/h

Hence, the ratio of the speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar:

\frac{9}{12}=\frac{3}{4}=3:4.
