# Q. 4.     Distances travelled by Hamid and Akhtar in an hour are $\inline 9\; km$ and $\inline 12\; km.$ Find the ratio of speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar.

P Pankaj Sanodiya

As we know,

$speed=\frac{distance}{time}$

So,

Speed of Hamid :

$speed=\frac{distance}{time}=\frac{9km}{1hour}=9km/h$

Speed of Akhtar :

$speed=\frac{distance}{time}=\frac{12km}{1hour}=12km/h$

Hence, the ratio of the speed of Hamid to the speed of Akhtar:

$\frac{9}{12}=\frac{3}{4}=3:4$.
