\\ (- 49) \times 18 = (-50+1)\times18 = (-50)\times18 + 1\times18 \\ = -900 + 18 = -782 \\ \\ (-25) \times (-31) = (-25)\times((-30) + (-1)) \\ = (-25)\times(-30) + (-25)\times(-1) = 750+25 = 725 \\ \\ 70 \times (-19) + (-1) \times 70 = 70\times((-19)+ (-1)) \\ = 70\times(-20) = -1400
