             (b) denominator 4

The required equivalent fractions are given below :- 

 (a)  Divide both numerator and denomenator by 4.

                                    \frac{36}{48}\times \frac{\frac{1}{4}}{\frac{1}{4}}\ =\ \frac{9}{12}

 (b) Divide both numerator and denomenator by 12.

                                   \frac{36}{48}\times \frac{\frac{1}{12}}{\frac{1}{12}}\ =\ \frac{3}{4}
