Q6.    Find the values of x, y and z from the following equations:

        (iii) 

               \begin{bmatrix} x + y + z\\ x + z \\ y + z \end{bmatrix} = \begin{bmatrix} 9\\5 \\7 \end{bmatrix}

  \begin{bmatrix} x + y + z\\ x + z \\ y + z \end{bmatrix} = \begin{bmatrix} 9\\5 \\7 \end{bmatrix}

If two matrices are equal, then their corresponding elements are also equal

x+y+z=9........(1)

x+z=5..............(2) 

y+z=7..............(3)

subtracting (2) from (1) we will get y=4 

 substituting the value of y in equation (3) we will get z=3

now substituting the value of z in equation (2) we will get x=2

therefore,

   x=2,   y=4   and   z=3
