4.(iii) Find the zero of the polynomial in each of the following cases:

    (iii)    p(x)= 2x + 5

Answers (1)

Given polynomial is  p(x)= 2x + 5

Zero of a polynomial is that value of the variable at which the value of the polynomial is obtained as 0.

Now,

p(x)=0

\Rightarrow 2x+5 = 0

\Rightarrow x=-\frac{5}{2}

Therefore, x=-\frac{5}{2} is a zero of polynomial  p(x)= 2x + 5
