\\2( a^2 + ab ) + 3 - ab \\= 2a^2 + 2ab + 3 - ab \\= 2a^2 + ab + 3 \\= 2 \times 5^2 + 5 \times ( -3 ) + 3 \\= 50 - 15 + 3 \\= 38

When a = 5 and b = -3 the value 2( a2 + ab ) + 3 - ab = 38
