Q : 5    The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 50000 litres of water. Find the breadth of the tank, if its length and depth are respectively $\small 2.5\hspace{1mm}m$ and 10 m.

Given,

Length of the tank = $\small l = 2.5\hspace{1mm}m$

Depth of the tank = $h = 10\ m$

Let the breadth of the tank be $\small b\ m$

We know, Volume of a cuboid = $l\times b\times h$

$\therefore$ The volume of the cuboidal tank = $(2.5\times b\times 10) = 25b\ m^3$

We know, $1\ m^3 = 1000\ litre$

$\therefore$ $25b\ m^3 = 50000\ litre = 50\ m^3$

$\\ \Rightarrow 25b = 50 \\ \Rightarrow b = 2\ m$

Therefore, the breadth of the tank is $2\ m$
