Given,

The curved surface area of the cylinder = $\small 88\hspace{1mm}cm^2$

And, the height of the cylinder, $h= 14\ cm$

We know, Curved surface area of a right circular cylinder = $2\pi rh$

$\\ \therefore 2\pi rh = 88 \\ \implies 2.\frac{22}{7}. r. (14) = 88 \\ \\ \implies r = 1$

Therefore, the diameter of the cylinder = $1\ cm$
