Now, at  $x = -\frac{m}{l}$   it's value is

$p\left ( -\frac{m}{l} \right )= l \times \left ( -\frac{m}{l} \right )+m = -m+m =0$

Therefore, yes  $x = -\frac{m}{l}$   is a zeros of  polynomial  $p(x) = lx+m$
