What does the term 'memory' of the Immune system mean?

Answers (1)

Our body gains immunity against certain pathogens after they attack the body the first time. This is called the primary response and is characterised by low intensity. However, when the same pathogens make their way in again, our immune system responds with higher intensity due to 'memory'. This more intense response is called a secondary response.
