Good fuel has the following properties:.
(i) It is easily available.
(ii) It is economical.
(iii) has a high calorific value.
(iv) It's combustion must not produce any poisonous smoke.
(v) must be safe to store and easy to transport.
(vi) has an ignition temperature well above the room temperature.
(vii) Ash or residue must not be produced on combustion.
(viii) The combustion must be easily controllable.
