Reducing agents are those which lose the electrons easily. Here Cr^{2+} or Fe^{2+} ,the reduction potential value of Cr^{3+}/Cr^{2+} is more than that of Fe^{3+}/Fe^{2+}.Hence Cr^{2+} easily gets oxidised to Cr^{3+} (attains t^{3}_{2g} configuration). Hence Cr^{2+} is better reducing agents.
