# A Cyclist covers 600 metres in 5 minutes. 1-Calculate his speed in m/sec as well as in km/hr. 2-How much distance will he travel in 3/2 hours? 3-How much time will he require to cover 1.8 km?

1. Distance covered=600 metres,
time taken=5 minutes=300 seconds
$\therefore$ $speed=\frac{distance}{time}=\frac{600m}{300sec}=2m/sec$
2. Distance covered in $\frac{3}{2}$ hours=$speed\times time$
$=(7.2km/hr)\times1.5\, hours=10.8km$
3. Time required to cover 1.8 km
$=\frac{distance}{speed}=\frac{1.8km}{7.2km/hr}=\frac{1}{4}hr=15\, minutes$
