(a) Traits that are generally controlled by three or more genes the phenotype reflects the contribution of each allele effect of each allele is additive.

e.g. Human skin colour controlled by three genes (A,B,C) in multiple allelison more than alleles, gover the same character phenotype.

e.g.  Human blood group (ABO system) controlled by three different alleles (I^{A},I^{B},i)

(b) In pleiotrophy a single gene can exhibit multiple phenotypic expression in phenyl betonuria single mutated genes express mental retardation and reduction in hair and skin pigmentation.
