A hall is 15 m long and 12 m broad. If the sum of the areas of the floor and the ceiling is equal to the sum of the areas of four walls, the volume of the hall is:

Given

Lenght of the hall (l)= 15m
Breadth of the hall (b)= 12m
Area of the ceiling and floor = 2(lxb)=2(15x12)=360m2

Given that area of floor and ceiling is equal to area of 4 walls
Hence the area of four walls=> 360 = 2x(hl+bh)

180 = h(b+l)

h = 180/27
h=6.66 m
Now volume of the hall = lxbxh = 15x12x180/27=1200 m3
