(a) Plot a graph showing the variation of photoelectric current with collector plate potential for different frequencies but of same intensity of incident radiation.

(b) Green and blue light of same intensity are incident separately on the same photosensitive surface. If both of these cause photoelectric emission, which one will emit photoelectrons  (i) having greater kinetic energy and (ii) producing larger photocurrent? Justify your answer.

(b) The intensity of incident radiation is given by :

I=nhv

n\rightarrow no. of photons incident per unit time per unit area

h\rightarrow Planck's constant

v\rightarrow frequency of photon for the same intensity of two monochromatic radiations of frequencies v_1 and v_2.

n_1hv_1=n_2hv_2

Blue light has more frequency than green light.

\therefore v_1>v_2

(i) KE_{max}=h\nu -\phi _0

Since these lights are incident on the same surface, work function will be the same. Since the frequency of blue light is greater than green light, the blue light will have greater kinetic energy.

(ii) The photocurrent depends on the intensity. Since the intensity is constant the photocurrent is same for both the colour
