A saree 5.5m long and 1.25m wide has a zari border 2.5cm broad along its length on either side. Along the width on one edge the border was 5cm wide and on the other side the zari was 25cm wide. Find the area of the zari ?
Answers (1)
Length of the saree = 5.5m = 550 cm
Width of the saree = 1.25m = 125 cm
Area of the zari = 2x550x2.5 + 125x5 + 125x25
= 5x550 + 125x30
= 2750 + 3750
= 6500 cm2
