# A shopkeeper earns a profit of 5 by selling a new register and incurs a loss of2 per register on old stock. In a particular day, he incurs a loss of 36, byselling 10 new registers. How many old registers did he sell on that particularday??

Answer:  Let assume the loss from sale of old regiters be $\\x$

profit on selling 10 New registers =$\\50$ Rs.

Total loss =36 Rs.

So , Total loss = Loss from old resisters - profite from new registers

$\\ \Rightarrow 36=x-50\Rightarrow x=86$

So , loss from old register is 86 Rs. , however loss from one old register is 2 Rs.

Hence total old registers sold= 86/2=43 old registers
