Solution:  Length of the train = 240 m

⇒ Time taken to pass the pole = 24 sec 

⇒ Since ,  Speed = Distance: / Time 

Therefore , S = 240 / 24 = 10 m /sec 

Length of the platform = 650 m

Total Distance =( 240 + 650 ) m =890 m

⇒ Time = Distance / speed 

⇒  890 /10 = 89 seconds
