Apply KVL in AEFCA

40-40 (I_{1}+I_{2})-30I_{1}=0

7I_{1}+4I_{2}=4          .............(1)

Apply KVL in CABDCA

40-40\left (I_{2}+I_{1} \right )+80-20I_{2}=0

6I_{2}+4I_{1}=12

3I_{2}+2I_{1}=6            ...........(2)

I_{1}=\frac{-12}{13}A,I_{2}=\frac{34}{13}A

Current through AC = I_{1}+I_{2}=\frac{22}{13}A

(b) Meterbridge works on the principle of balanced Wheatstone's bridge.

Metal strips are used to connect the circuit because metal strips have very less resistance so that additional resistance is not added through the circuit.
