a) infrared waves often called heat waves because they raise the temperature of an object when they fall an object. infrared rays have the ability to vibrate not only electrons but also entire molecules of an object. It is absorbed by water molecule hence increase their thermal motion due to the vibration of molecules by falling of infrared rays. Due to thermal motion temperature is also increases and heat is emitted from the object Thus infrared waves are called heat waves
b) Electromagnetic wave transport momentum means when an electromagnetic wave travels it set the charges in motion.
This is happened due to the electromagnetic wave contains both the electric field and magnetic field. The charges present on the surface where electromagnetic wave travels acquire energy and momentum from the waves. this means electromagnetic waves transport momentum.
