        \begin{aligned} &2 \mathrm{MnO}_{2}+4 \mathrm{KoH}+\mathrm{O}_{2} \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{K}_{2} \mathrm{MnO}_{4}+2 \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}\\ &3 \mathrm{M n O}_{4}^{2}+4 \mathrm{H}^{+} \rightarrow 2\mathrm{MnO}_{4}^{-}+\mathrm{MnO}_{2}+2 \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O} \end{aligned}

(b)    Actinoids show wide range of oxidation states due to small energy difference between 5f6d and 7s subshells. They can show oxidation states of +3 and higher as well like +4, +5, +6 +7.
