(a) D- Glucaric acid is formed when D-Glucose reacts with conc. HNO3.

(b) Amino acids show amphoteric behaviour in zwitter ionic form i.e. when thet contain both positive and negative charges and hence react with both acids and bases.

(c) In \alpha-helix form of proteins a polypeptide chain forms all possible H-bonds by twisting into a right handed screw with -NH group of each amino acid residue H-bonded to -CO- group of adjacent turn of helix.

Whereas in  \beta-pleated structure, all peptide chains are stretched out of nearly maximum extension and then laid side - by -side which are held together by intermolecular H-bonds which resembles the pleated folds of drapery.
