An aqueous solution of boric acid is acidic basic neutral or amphoteric?

Answers (1)

An aqueous solution of boric acid is acidic. Lewis acid accepts electron from other entities. Here, it's important to keep in mind is that boric acid (H3BO3) doesn't dissociate in water to give H+ ions. Rather it accepts OH- ion from water to form H4BO4-.
