Analyse the causes for the decline of the Mauryan empire.

Mauryan empire was formed around 321 BCE. It covered most of the Indian region. It's capital was Patliputra. It declined after Samraat Ashoka's rule and finally dissolved in 185 BCE with the assassination of Brihadratha by Pushyamitra Shunga. Some Causes for the decline of the Mughal empire were following- 

1- Weak Successor 

2- Vastness of the empire 

3- Oppressive rule in provinces

4- Brahmanicl reactions against Ashoka's policy 

5- Kalinga war.

6- Neglect of North-West frontier.
