Difference between identifier and variables

The identifier is unique and identifies an entity while execution of a program, Variable is the name of the memory location and contains corresponding values. 

All variables are identifiers but all identifiers are not variables.

2 or more variables can have the same name but identifiers can not and have to different from the keywords too.
