Cationic detergents are quartenary ammonium salts of amines with acetates, chlorides or bromides as anions.e.g. cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide

Anionic detergents are sodium salts of sulphonated long chain alcohols or or hydrocarbons.e.g. Sodium lauryl sulphate
