  • Binding energy per nucleon is practically constant for \left ( 30< A< 17 \right )
  • Binding energy per nucleon is lower for both light nuclei\left ( A< 30 \right ) and heavy nuclei\left ( A> 170 \right ).
  • A very high nucleus has lower binding energy per nucleon will undergo fission and will breakdown into two nuclei
    of medium size with large binding energy per nucleon and release tremendous of amount of energy, in the fission process.
  •  when two very light nuclei, having low binding energy per nucleon combine together and form a medium-sized nucleus of higher binding energy per nucleon releases an enormous amount of energy, in the fusion process.
