To draw: isosceles  \bigtriangleup ABC with

AB=AC

BC=8\; cm

AD=4\; cm

and then draw a triangle which is  \frac{2}{3}\bigtriangleup ABC

\rightarrow Steps for construction :

(i) Draw a line BC=8\;cm

(ii) Draw a perpendicular bisector of BC which intersects BC at D.

(iii) Mark A on the bisector such that AD=4\; cm.

(iv) Join A to B and A to C.

(v) Draw a ray BX making an acute angle with the line BC.

(vi) Take scale factor of  \frac{2}{3}.

(vii) Mark B_1,B_2,B_3  on BX such that BB_1=BB_2=BB_3

(viii) Join B_3C.

(ix) Draw  B_2C'\parallel B_3C  to meet BC at C'.

(x) From C' draw C'A'\parallel CA  to meet A'.

Hence  \bigtriangleup A'\!BC'  is the required triangle which is \frac{2}{3}\bigtriangleup ABC
