Each day a lady gets the lift from the 12th floor to the ground level so she can go to work. When she comes home however she only goes up the lift to level 8. Why is this ?

The answer is very simple. The girl has a small height due to her small height, she is unable to touch/click any higher floor button when she returns. 

(Generally, in elevators floor number buttons are put in descending order )
