Except the plants, why can’t other living organisms prepare the food by their own using CO2, water and minerals?

Plants do "Photosynthesis" to carry out their food making. In this process, CO2, water, sunlight and chlorophyll (the chemical which causes the green color). Since living organism doesn't have chlorophyll in them so, they can't prepare the food with other elements.
